I liked this episode. I even liked that there was no resolution. It felt realistic. Sometimes there just is no way to get justice.

Provenza's duck lamps: not that ugly. I mean, not something I would put in my house, but they weren't garish or offensive either. The props department could have gotten something uglier to get the point across, haha!

I really liked Mary in this ep, I always like when you can see Sharon's affected by something but stays professional. Mary is so good at acting that out. And her reaction to finding her apartment full of crap, haha!
Also, both the black suits... ♥

TJ: somehow I don't trust that guy, something is not quite adding up there for me. Maybe I am just paranoid, but...

Ditto on everything here - except, maybe, TJ. I only got "awkward" vibes from him - nothing that spurred my paranoia, but who knows? :3

I liked a ton of things about this episode but one thing bothered me: As much as I loved the stance on rape and the way it was portrayed, which was great, very nuanced, and realistic...the killer drugged and murdered the victim, there are still three guns in the house, and her son is resembling his father as he gets older. I really wish Sharon made a deal that the shooter would get some counseling or address in some way that there are some potential safety issues there. A sentence or two that even with the resemblance, she doesn't see her rapist in him, she just sees her son.

Maybe there was a hint of that in there somewhere and I just need a re-watch.

Poor Sharon's apartment! That was wonderful and the kind of realistic comedy I really love. And I also loved Andy calling out the AA sponsor on not following up on his sponsor-ee when he dropped out of sight, and the acknowledgement that slips can happen even after 20 years of sobriety.

Everyone looked great, too. Sharon's hair seemed a little tamer but super-healthy and elegant. And I loved Patrice's top, and the jacket Sharon wore at the end :-)

It would be really interesting to see another crime happen later that reflects back on this case being left as it was.

Yeah - unfortunately, I don't believe the show (either TC or MC) are very good at following-up unfortunately. I mean look at where they left with Daniel Dunn and the fiancee with two daughters? :\

Though one can hope? Maybe someone will write a post-ep fic where Sharon has a sit-down with the wife about counseling. :3

I know, I think about that all the time... Can't believe Sharon & Co. were ok with the way that played out.

Bad writing...

It was interesting, the theme of unresolved issues that ran through this episode. I for one was pleased that the lady who killed the rapist wasn't prosecuted. I'm not saying that they should have baked her cake or given her a round of applause, but certainly the poor woman has suffered enough, and it's not like his fate wasn't richly, richly deserved.

That line of Andy's about a rapist getting sober leaves you with simply a sober rapist was much needed, and I'm glad it was in there.

Not knowing whether Andy and Sharon got more closely involved, and Provenza and his partner both acknowledging that everything's in a state of flux made for a certain symmetry in this episode.

Rusty's new friend was sweet and cute.

Probably my favourite bits were the clear but not overdone sympathy that the team had with the rape victims - excellent subtle acting there - and Sharon's reaction to all Provenza's stuff in her beautiful and normally very orderly apartment. Her face! :D
